Privacy Policy

American Protection Plan (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what we collect when you use this site or request a quote, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to give you a quote and follow up:

• Information you give us. Name, phone number, email address, ZIP code and state, preferred call time, and your answers to our quote questions: age range, gender, tobacco use, a general description of your health, who the benefit is for, the coverage amount, your monthly budget, and when you want coverage. Also anything else you tell an agent, including health history and beneficiary details if you choose to apply.
• Consent records. When you check a consent box, we store the exact wording you agreed to, the date and time, your IP address, your browser user agent, and the page you submitted from. We keep this to prove your consent was valid.
• Call and message records. Call times, durations, outcomes, and the content of text messages you exchange with us. Calls may be recorded for quality and compliance where permitted by law; you will be told at the start of the call.
• Technical data. IP address, device and browser type, referring page, and pages viewed, collected through standard server logs and analytics.

2. How we use your information

• To respond to your quote request and have an agent contact you.
• To submit an application to an insurance carrier on your behalf, if you ask us to.
• To send service and marketing communications you have consented to receive.
• To maintain internal Do Not Call and opt-out lists.
• To detect fraud, secure our systems, and comply with insurance and telemarketing law.

3. Text messaging (SMS) and your mobile information

No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. The only exception is the messaging aggregators and service providers strictly necessary to deliver the messages you asked for. Those providers act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own marketing.

If you opt in to text messages, we send them under our Messaging Terms, which describe the program, the message frequency, and how to stop. SMS consent is always optional and is never required to get a quote or buy a policy. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

After you opt out: we stop messaging you immediately and keep your mobile number on an internal suppression list indefinitely, so that later campaigns cannot text you again. That suppression record is used only to keep you off our lists.

4. When we share information

We share your information only in these situations:

• Insurance carriers. When you ask us to submit an application, we send the carrier what it needs to underwrite it.
• Independent agents. The independent, carrier-appointed agent handling your request.
• Service providers. Hosting, CRM, telephony, and messaging vendors that process data on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.
• Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or regulator, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share your phone number or your SMS consent with lead buyers, affiliates, networks, or any other third party for their marketing. We have never done so and have no arrangements to do so. The agent who contacts you is an independent, carrier-appointed agent, not an employee of American Protection Plan.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to make the site work and basic analytics to understand which pages people find useful. You can block cookies in your browser; parts of the site may stop working if you do. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where required.

To measure whether our Facebook and Instagram ads work, we use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API. When you ask for a quote on one of our quote pages, we send Meta a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address, name, state, gender, and a random ID for your request, with your IP address and browser details, so Meta can match the request to an ad. We never send Meta your phone number, your text-messaging consent, your age, your budget, or your answers about health or tobacco. If you opt out on our Do Not Sell or Share page or use Global Privacy Control, we don't load the pixel and don't send this data.

We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how people use our pages, through heatmaps and recordings of clicks, taps, and scrolling, so we can fix what's confusing. Clarity hides what you type into our forms. The same opt-out turns Clarity off. See Microsoft's privacy statement.

6. Your choices

• Text messages: reply STOP to any message.
• Calls: tell any agent to add you to our internal Do Not Call list, or email support@americanprotectionplan.com. We honor requests within 10 business days and keep them indefinitely.
• Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
• Do Not Sell or Share / targeted advertising: we do not sell your personal information. If we use advertising tools that state law treats as “sharing” or “targeted advertising,” you can opt out on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, by calling (877) 222-2022, or by turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser.
• Access, correction, deletion, and portability: residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and Texas — may request a copy of their personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, and appeal a denial. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Email support@americanprotectionplan.com to make a request; we may need to verify your identity first.

7. Retention and security

We keep consent records and communication logs for at least five years to meet telemarketing and insurance recordkeeping requirements, and other information for as long as needed for the purposes above. We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor review. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

This site is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes here and update the effective date. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be communicated before they take effect.
